FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Vectura Appoints Dan Bergin, CFE, to Lead Strategic Intelligence and Response for Vectura, Strengthening Its Security and Risk Management Leadership Team
Chicago, Illinois — Vectura Risk Management is pleased to announce that Dan Bergin, CFE, has joined the company to lead strategic intelligence and response for Vectura, bringing more than 27 years of law enforcement, investigative, and strategic leadership experience to Vectura’s growing security and risk management team.
A retired New Jersey State Police Captain, Bergin built a distinguished career leading complex criminal investigations, intelligence operations, and statewide security initiatives. His background includes oversight of major operational units focused on violent crime, organized crime, drug trafficking, weapons trafficking, gang intelligence, and motor vehicle crime, along with executive leadership of the Criminal Justice Records Bureau, where he managed critical analytical, compliance, discovery, and records operations.
Throughout his law enforcement career, Bergin also developed strong working relationships across private industry and multiple levels of government, experience that aligns closely with Vectura’s approach to cargo security, incident management, and real-world risk response.
At Vectura, Bergin will help strengthen the company’s ability to support shippers, carriers, and logistics partners facing increasingly complex cargo threats, combining operational intelligence, preventive strategy, and practical response capabilities across high-risk transportation environments. Vectura’s platform, which integrates monitoring, security escorts, site audits, and incident response into a unified transport risk model, continues to expand as customers seek solutions that go beyond visibility alone.
Bergin is a Certified Fraud Examiner and an active member of many industry organizations. He has delivered nationwide training on cargo theft, intellectual property theft, criminal street gangs, surveillance methods, source development, intelligence analysis, and leadership.
“After spending nearly three decades working investigations, intelligence, and organized crime from the public sector side, joining Vectura is an opportunity to apply that experience where prevention matters most, before incidents escalate,” said Bergin. “What stood out to me is that Vectura understands security the way carriers and shippers actually experience it: not as isolated alerts, but as a full operational challenge that requires judgment, response, and the ability to adapt in real time. That is where I believe Vectura offers something the market genuinely needs.”
Vectura leadership said Bergin’s background adds another important layer to the company’s ability to support customers operating in high-value, high-targeted freight environments.
“Dan brings a level of investigative and operational credibility that directly strengthens how we think about cargo risk,” said Bart Schulman, Chief Commercial Officer. “His experience across intelligence, organized crime, and interagency coordination fits naturally with how Vectura works: practical security built around what actually happens on the road.”
